Easter Monday Ride and Stride at The Grange Hampshire
Over 600 horse riders, bicyclists and walkers – many with dogs and their families – spent a fun day basking in the sun at the inaugural Easter Monday Ride and Stride at The Grange.
There was so much to see and do in such a beautiful setting – the horse riders were able to hack around the park on a 6 mile course overlooking the lake, whilst the cyclists had a choice of a 25 mile or 5 mile signed route on quiet country roads through pretty villages of Hampshire. The dogs and their tethered owners had a whale of a time ambling through the bluebell carpeted woods too!
Having built up an appetite after all that exercise, riders and striders feasted on a succulent BBQ and an opportunity to quench their thirst tasting the recently released, home grown and delicious sparkling wine that takes its name from The Grange.
Providing the musical entertainment was The Wield Glenn Miller Tribute Band – this 20 strong, local “big band” does so much to raise money for The Not Forgotten Association whilst encouraging everybody to get up and dance!
This very special day culminated in a dog show with over 50 dogs competing for bottles of The Grange Hampshire sparkling wine and the much sought after rosettes! A fun day was had by all and let’s hope the sun shines again next year – put Easter Monday 2020 in your diary now!
Huge thanks to the sponsors, whose considerable support made it all happen – The Grange Hampshire wine, Barn Store Winchester, Moonroast Coffee, Tow & Farm, BCM and Gwynne Dental.
