Auditorium

WE LOVE THE CONTRAST OF THE INTIMACY OF THE THEATRE AND THE ROLLING COUNTRYSIDE JUST OUTSIDE THE DOOR

The 570-seat theatre, which was built within the original orangery of The Grange, is principally used for the summer opera festival. However it is available outside the season for events requiring the use of an auditorium.

The Grange Festival

The stalls comprise seating for (320) on blue velvet reconditioned theatre seats which date from 2017. The two circles behind these seat a further (250) mostly in boxes on separate seats. There is an orchestra pit and a revolve but most of the technical equipment for theatre productions (lighting, rigging etc) is hired in on a seasonal basis. Our team has access to appropriate technical advice to facilitate successful events.

The new theatre was built inside the old Orangery by Studio E Architects, advised by John Redmill as Historic Buildings consultant; this won the RIBA Award 2004, RIBA Conservation Commendation 2004, Georgian Group Award for Best New Building in a Georgian Context 2004 and was shortlisted for the Crown Estate Conservation Award 2004.
