Bringing a Global Team Together at The Grange Hampshire
When a fully remote company decided it was time to bring its international team together in person, they wanted to do something different. With 14 team members travelling from across the world, the goal was to create an experience that balanced meaningful strategy work with genuine human connection – somewhere people could think clearly, recharge fully and get to know one another beyond the modern world of screens.
For their three-day two-night offsite, they chose The Grange Hampshire, which offers the perfect balance of productive working spaces, restorative experiences, exceptional food and memorable shared moments.
A Venue Designed for Connection
Set within the Hampshire countryside, the retreat allowed the team to step away from day-to-day routines and into an environment that felt calm, restorative and inspiring.
The group settled into the estate wide accommodation, with the team gathering naturally in shared living spaces, gardens and around the dining table for team dinners. For a company used to communicating through video calls and time zones, the simple act of spending unhurried time together was key.
Meetings, workshops and strategy sessions were hosted primarily at Abbotstone Farm House – chosen for its relaxed atmosphere, generous breakout areas and large garden spaces that encouraged both structured collaboration and informal conversation.
Rather than being confined to one meeting room, the team moved between indoor and outdoor settings throughout the retreat, creating a rhythm that felt productive without becoming intense or overly corporate due to the natural light that fills Abbotstone Farm House.
Balancing Work with Wellbeing & Fun
A key outcome of the retreat’s success was the balance between focused working sessions and uplifting shared experiences.
Between workshops and planning discussions, the team embraced a series of activities designed to refresh both mind and body.
Wild swimming sessions offered a chance to reset and clear the mind, while energetic bounce classes brought laughter, movement and a welcome burst of energy into the day.
For those that wanted a slow paced morning, a gentle swim in the heated swimming pools, or simply the chance to relax with a book and a cup of tea was available too!
The group also enjoyed a vineyard tour and tasting at the estate’s award winning vineyard — an experience that quickly became one of the highlights of the retreat.
Away from laptops and agendas, conversations deepened naturally between colleagues who had previously only known each other online.
Food That Brought Everyone Together
Meals became an important part of the overall experience, with catering centred around healthy, vibrant, locally sourced food that encouraged people to slow down and gather together.
The team enjoyed freshly made pizzas, estate reared venison and seasonal vegetables grown locally, with menus designed to feel nourishing, generous and memorable.
Shared dining experiences created natural moments for relaxed, non-work conversation — giving people the chance to connect beyond job titles, share stories and laugh together.
