In February, a multi-generational group came together for a private weekend at The Grange Hampshire to celebrate a 60th birthday.

Abbotstone Barn tables laid up

The Grange Hampshire is far more than just a venue – it is a canvas for bespoke stays and milestone celebrations. With accommodation available (up to 20 bedrooms), flexible event spaces, curated estate activities, and a dedicated team to bring ideas to life, it becomes an extraordinary setting for celebrations.

By taking all onsite accommodation, the host created a relaxed experience that blended all our unique ingredients: long-table dinners with superb food, estate-grown wine, live music, and time set aside to create meaningful moments.

As the weekend brought together a wide mix of family and friends, our accommodation allowed guests to feel part of one shared experience while still enjoying space and privacy when needed.

  • Abbotstone Farm House – 9 bedrooms
  • Garden Cottage – 1 bedroom plus sofa bed
  • Lake House Cottage – 7 bedrooms
  • Lake House Studio – 1 bedroom plus sofa bed
  • The Clock Tower – 2 bedrooms

Over the weekend the itinerary looked like:

FRIDAY EVENING: ARRIVAL AND INDIAN FEAST

Friends and family arrived on Friday afternoon and were welcomed by members of The Grange Hampshire team.

The informal rhythm of the weekend was set by a relaxed Indian style feast and drinks at Abbotstone Farm House.

Dinner was catered by local chef David Liney from Chefs Cottage Cookery, who’s generous, flavour filled menu encouraged sharing and conversation between important people from throughout the host’s life, many of whom had not had the pleasure of meeting each other before.

SATURDAY MORNING: A STROLL WITH A VINEYARD TOUR AND TASTING

After breakfast, guests walked together through the parkland to the Estate’s vineyard and winery.

Here, everyone enjoyed a guided tour and tasting of the latest releases, learning about the topography, the dedication of our growing team and the skill of our wine makers that’s present in every bottle produced.

The morning ended with a picnic style lunch at the winery – shared tables, glasses of our sparkling wine, and a blessing of early afternoon sunshine pouring through the windows.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON: ESTATE ACTIVITIES

The afternoon was intentionally left free range, giving guests time to enjoy the estate at their own pace – whether exploring the grounds, relaxing by the lake, or returning to their accommodation for peace and quiet before the evening celebrations.

During the warmer months (April to the end of September), guests can enjoy two heated outdoor swimming pools.

For those seeking a more active afternoon, we offer a wide range of optional estate activities for guests to shaper their experience, a few of which are included below:

  • Wild Swimming
  • Cider Making
  • Yoga Classes
  • Homemade sourdough pizza parties
  • Cocktail Making
  • Art Workshops
  • Cooking Classes
  • Foraging

SATURDAY EVENING: ABBOTSTONE BARN PARTY & SING ALONG

Singalong in Abbotstone Barn

The highlight of the weekend took place on Saturday night at Abbotstone Barn, which was transformed into an intimate party space large enough for 50 people.

After drinks and canapés, guests were treated to an extraordinary singalong led by Tori London. Each song was dedicated to an important person in the host’s life, creating moments of laughter, emotion, and shared memories.

A two-course seated dinner followed, before the evening flowed naturally into dancing the night away.

SUNDAY: REST & RELAXATION

Sundays at the estate are designed to be enjoyed at a gentler pace. Guests gathered for leisurely breakfasts and made the most of the peaceful surroundings before departure.

With a relaxed 4 pm checkout as standard, there was no sense of hurry, allowing the celebration to finish in the same unhurried and informal way it began.

A FULLY-SUPPORTED, BESPOKE SERVICE

A key element of the weekend’s success was having a dedicated contact at The Grange Hampshire, working closely with the host throughout the planning process.

From recommending trusted local suppliers to shaping the flow of the weekend, this hands on support helped co-create a celebration that felt deeply personal and effortlessly delivered.

If you’re planning a milestone worth gathering your nearest and dearest for, we’d love to host and help you make it an unforgettable celebration.
